It also offers support through Path Forward, a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower people who’ve been focused on caregiving transition back to the paid workforce.

Return Ticket is a 16-week paid internship starting September 5th, 2022 and ending December 23rd, 2022 for mid-career professionals who have at least five years of work experience and have been out of the workforce for two or more years for caregiving. We’re looking for motivated tech professionals who are eager to return to work and re-launch their careers to help us power global travel for everyone, everywhere! 

Depending on performance, Return Ticket participants may be offered a full time opportunity at Expedia Group. Participants in the 16-week program will have the option to work remote or in the office. In the event you are hired as a full-time employee after the program, you will be expected to work at our Seattle, Austin, or Chicago office.

On the Vacation Rentals Shopping team we build experiences which help our customers efficiently search, find properties to bopok that are perfect for their travel plans through an intuitive experience on our search results and property details pages. These pages play a key role at Expedia Group, having a high impact on our customer experience so users can find the best property that the whole group can enjoy!

Software Engineers at Expedia develop solutions and products that touch millions of people every day around the globe. Our engineers tackle some of the most sophisticated problems in the world of travel across various brands - Expedia, Vrbo, Orbitz, Travelocity, eBookers and others. We are looking for strong technical talent, deep customer insight as well as a keen desire to deeply understand our products and services to push our technology forward with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability. You'll work alongside the best and the brightest engineering talent in the industry. As a participant of this inclusive team, you'll estimate engineering efforts, design your changes, implement, and test your changes, push to live, and triage production issues. You need to be collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences and improve existing products powering the world's largest travel website at a scale only a few companies can match.

Who you are:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.

· 5+ years of experience working in a web development environment.

· Experience developing features in Node.js, React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and GraphQL for domain service integration.

· Understanding of large scale client/server architectures.

· Always curious, investigating any code repository you can find and looking to contribute.

· Excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks such as React and GraphQL.

· Love all aspects of application development, from brainstorming and design to implementation, launch and support.
