Senior Product Manager: Cars

Expedia Cars is a global team managing not only car rental products but also all ground transportation products across Expedia Group portfolio websites. The Expedia Cars team is a small and mighty team, where members wear many hats, working on projects focused on traveler-facing UI and native app functionality, down to supply services and even internal tools We work with and sell rental cars and ground transportation from hundreds of supply partners globally. Cars and Ground Transportation at Expedia are among the most profitable product lines at the company. New features and A/B tests built from our product team drive highly valuable uplift in not only our own product line business, but product lines across the board who benefit from customers who add a car or another travel product to their car rental. Our team drives and manages both sides of the Expedia marketplace both Demand (Travelers) and Supply (Partners like Hertz, Avis, etc.), and as such we control marketplace dynamics, from demand shaping, to pricing, to supplier incentives.

What you'll do:

  • Drive strategy to build the most efficient marketplace across both demand and supply sides of the marketplace for Cars and Ground Transport products

  • Create a set of qualitative and quantitative measures to drive performance across an existing product area

  • Look for ways and understand how to improve performance of metrics, understanding the interdependency of metrics and metric relationships

  • Mentor others to use decision frameworks and the process of linking data, knowledge and insights together

  • Consider risks that will impact timing of decisions to ensure the most beneficial decision is made

  • Use frameworks to align stakeholders and leadership on product direction/key decisions

  • Effectively influence for best outcomes

  • Generate new ideas for developing deeper customer insights (i.e. new research topics and methods, new data sources, etc.) including ways to better quantify insights and build/utilize feedback loops

  • Develop the product strategy, roadmap and go-to-market plan                      

  • Drive cross-team collaborations with leaders to move projects forward and close on open questions, ensuring that blockers are identified and removed

  • Proactively contribute to cross team collaboration and leads alignment of work with broader initiatives tailoring messaging to audience and filters relevant communication

  • Work with numerous stakeholders to holistically define a complex problem space, desired customer and business outcomes and effective solutions

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Strong Product Management experience owning multiple, unrelated product areas including developing the product strategy, roadmap and go-to-market plan

  • Demonstrates a critical understanding of business processes and challenges, developing solutions to meet unique business needs and objectives
