Senior Manager, Software Development – Trip Recommendations

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with the business to have a clear understanding of how the technology stack is tied to business outcomes and our bottom line

  • Breakdown work into different phases and prioritize in partnership with product management peers

  • Anticipate and recognize bottlenecks in work processes between teams and makes suggestions for ongoing improvement

  • Advocate for operational excellence (such as unit testing, CI/CD, establishing SLAs, programming for resiliency and scalability)

  • Convey the right information to ensure that proposals for improvements are given the proper consideration and technical issues are resolved in a timely manner

  • Remain informed on new advances in engineering methodologies. Examine inefficiencies in the existing stack operation and encourage engineers to improve them

  • Bridge the gap in discussions between technology and non-technology personnel. Report on team status and listen for suggestions to improve lagging project work

  • Mentor employees and managers by providing advice and recommendations based on your own experience and learnings

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • An established People Leader who has led a team of Engineers

  • Possess strong technical skills which allow you to span multiple technical domains; explaining technology choices to technical and non-technical observers

  • You have defined team goals and how they fit a business need across multiple teams working together – working as an enabler for multiple teams to then achieve these goals

  • Collaborating closely with the product team you have delivered and influenced a product roadmap
