Vice President Connectivity

Expedia for Business manages all of Expedia Group’s B2B relationships. Our partners range from large airlines, hotels, and activity providers to single homeowners. As strategic partners to the businesses we work with, we help partners extend their distribution and advertising reach, deliver valuable services to customers and employees, and power their performance through our technology and solutions.

VP Connectivity Frames and executes an E2E lodging connectivity strategy to enable growth and broader use of EG connectivity solutions with lodging partners (Vacation Rentals and Hotel) and connectivity providers. Connectivity Leader will execute connectivity strategy and craft high value partnerships across the lodging connectivity value chain. This leader will work with cross-functional leaders, external software and global lodging connectivity executives, and product management leaders to build out connectivity strategy and identify and prioritize new product features and tools that enable good traveler outcomes and solve partners' business problems in a highly scalable, technology-focused way. 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop next-generation lodging Connectivity​
  • Own business performance of APIs, connectivity tools and partner tech solutions (Escapia, Rev+/MarketMaker)
  • Drive revenue with connected partners and reduce cost to serve​
  • Create effective processes, leveraging tools and resources to scale the lodging business e2e in connected partner system (account management of connectivity providers, integrations, technical relationship management, connected partner onboarding) ​
  • Develop new methods and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people​
  • Foster a highly inclusive, diverse, high-performing culture of innovation, delivering best-in-class solutions that solve real consumer issues​
  • Guide, educate and nurture the team, understand and apply customer insights, and use research and analytics to help influence solutions and experiences​
  • Provide business planning guidance, counsel to senior management. to support company objectives​
  • Engage executives and sr leaders in the industry by articulating the customer and product experience vision, desired functionality, and measures of success​
  • Convey Connectivity vision to internal and external stakeholders​
  • Drive Connectivity provider and connected partner experience strategy​
  • Influence Product roadmap for Connectivity Partners, connected partners, connectivity teams and partner tools ​
  • Oversee Preferred Provider Program and financial incentive program to drive connectivity provider performance​
  • Aligns with other leaders on connected partner strategy and the end-to-end, connected partner experience​
  • Partners with partner API Product and Tech organizations to shorten onboarding time, increase bookable inventory and production, and drive value to our connected partners via prioritizing, building, and improving connectivity provider tools and expanding the connectivity provider value proposition​
  • Partnership with other groups on maintenance, technical relationship management​
  • Partnership with Travel Partners group product on product features (to be externalized as APIs)​

Who you are:

  • Connectivity knowledge, transactional deal experience, internal & external relationship building
  • Direct operations leadership; strategy development experience
  • Successfully led teams across disperse locations.
  • Understanding of technology and how it creates competitive advantage.
  • Travel industry experience would be a plus but not a key requirement.
  • Identifying key issues, and prioritizing analysis
  • Driving subsequent analysis to arrive at a well-structured answer
  • Executive presence and persuasiveness in all modes of communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to communicate complex business problems and insights
  • Highly developed listening skills
  • A sincere collaborator, who earns confidence and sustains partnerships
