Our team is looking for hardworking software engineers wanting to get involved in one of the most important and complex spaces in all of Expedia Group. Our goal is to build out a best-in-class team of engineers, passionate about developing a centralized platform that could be maximized for providing contextually relevant recommendations and notifications for partners and travelers on Expedia Group across both Web and App. Together, building the future of the organization by solving sophisticated business ideas with state of the art technology.


As a member of the team, you will be at the forefront of our business strategy, building services that support the travel industry strategies that continue to expand our global marketplace. What you will do:

  • Reach out to meet peers across environment and collaborate to solve problems. You will seek knowledge from subject matter experts when needed.

  • Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.

  • Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.

  • Apply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional design and research peers to deliver effectively.

  • Help coordinate stakeholder input and collaboration efforts when developing solutions to issues.

  • Apply formal training methods to current workload and feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo.

  • Ask challenging questions when empowered to do so.

  • Participate in tests (A/B, usability, etc.) and user studies.

  • Consult available data to understand customer needs, motivations and challenges.

Who you are:  

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • Professional software development experience.

  • An established performer who consistently applies software engineering principles to business contexts.

  • Proactively identify inefficiencies in existing systems.

  • Understands how projects fit together within their team.

  • Understands moderately complex systems.

  • Experience testing and monitoring your own code.

  • Understands testing and monitoring tools.

  • Experienced debugging applications.

  • Creates effective automation and unit tests.

  • Understands how teams goals fit a business need.

  • Demonstrates strength in platform languages such as Swift, moderate familiarity in other applicable languages and shell scripting using Bash.

  • Demonstrates familiarity with UI framework and state management patterns and practices; functional knowledge of SwiftUI is a plus.

  • Demonstrates familiarity with associated technologies within their specialization as part of the wider ecosystem; such as REST and GraphQL.

  • Demonstrates familiarity with how to make individual components and application sections accessible, knowledge of relevant platform features such as VoiceOver.

  • Employing practice of TDD as well as knowledge in XCTest and other platform associated testing frameworks are encouraged
