Director of Corporate Strategy
Expedia Group’s Corporate Development and Strategy team is seeking to hire a Director of Corporate Strategy to help drive our next phase of growth. The team leads the charge to identify areas of profitable expansion working closely with our CEO, CFO (formerly head of Corporate Development & Strategy) and executive leadership.
The overall team drives
(1) Expedia Group's inorganic transactions spanning mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments
(2) Corporate strategy efforts including annual strategic planning and other complex, company-wide strategy projects.
This position is a highly visible and influential role meant to specifically drive the strategy related matters, while contributing to transactions work on an as-needed basis.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with the CEO, CFO and executive leadership team to define our long-term strategy and operating model
Drive cross-functional collaboration during the annual strategy planning process to ensure that long-term strategies are woven into actionable annual plans
Monitor industry trends on an ongoing basis, understand competitive actions, and develop related implications for our business, incl. a view on view on portfolio-wide gaps and opportunities
Generate acquisition strategies and themes both independently and in coordination with Expedia’s business unit leaders
Lead key workstreams during business due-diligence and post-deal integration efforts for inorganic transactions spanning mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments and other strategic partnerships
Lead targeted strategy projects to answer company-wide complex but high-value add questions
Who you are:
Bachelor’s and MBA degree is required
Outstanding performer with a demonstrated record of achievement at a top tier strategy consulting firm or industry wide corporate strategy group
7 to 10 years of total experience (3 to 5 years post-MBA) preferably spanning strategy consulting and an in-house strategy group
Experience in defining and assessing acquisition opportunities is a strong plus
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as this position will involve frequent, direct interaction with Expedia Group’s senior executives
Consistent track record of academic, professional, and personal excellence and sound business judgment
Proven ability to think strategically and lead the team’s analysts in solving complex business problems
