Software Development Engineer II

Our goal is to build out an outstanding team of engineers, passionate about developing customer centric eCommerce solutions for partners and travellers on the Expedia Group marketplace.

What you’ll do:  

• Collaborate with team members to co-develop and solve problems

• Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area

• Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements

• Help in coordinating collaborators input and efforts when developing solutions to issues  

• Apply software design principles and/or design to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions  

• Maintain high standards of code quality and unit test coverage  

Who you are:  

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience  

• Equivalent experience includes experience in developing software in a team of at least 5 engineers  

• Solid experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar programming languages  

• Familiarity with Spring Framework, Maven, Jenkins, AWS and DevOps process  

• Building and maintaining a software project/product in production environments in cloud infrastructure is a plus  

• Experience in testing, automating, and instrumenting your code  

• Solid knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies (scrum, Kanban)  

• Strong communication in written and verbal form  

• Able to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical partners
