Principal Product Manager
Daily, hundreds of thousands of Expedia group's Lodging Partners exchange information, millions of customers shop, and billions of data exchanges are executed across the largest online travel marketplace in the world!
Hotel property managers and chains have sophisticated pricing and availability strategies for optimizing revenue across a complex travel distribution ecosystem. As the Principal Product Manager for Optimized Distribution, you will articulate the product roadmap and requirements for giving suppliers more control over these strategies along with more powerful tools to implement them. You will be the holistic product strategist across all Expedia products collaborating with many product and tech teams on the end-to-end product while also going deeper with your direct engineering pods on roadmap, requirements and execution within the inventory and pricing platform.
What you'll do:
Be the holistic lead defining the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap and offering in support of user need and commercial objectives
Own product discovery working closely with the commercial, operational, marketing and product development teams across all three Expedia Group divisions
Define product roadmap and requirements and drive delivery for the inventory and pricing platform’s contribution towards this broader program
Uncover new insights based on data, interactions with external supply and demand partners, an understanding of the travel ecosystem, and your proven experience
Collaborate with internal stakeholders at every step of the way, incorporating each team’s perspective into developing the whole picture and communicating to ensure all teams are engaged, bought in and working towards the same goals and ultimate delivery
Iterate through the product development processes, ensuring the ultimate product functions from an end user’s perspective mapping back to your initial user stories and functional requirements while enabling timely product delivery through balancing market need and commercial impact with development scope with each feature and requirement
Partner very closely with engineering and technical program management to ensure product thinking is always grounded by and informed by technical opportunities and constraints
Work with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
Elevate the team and broader product portfolio through mentorship, knowledge share and best practices
Who you are:
Strong product management experience owning multiple, unrelated product areas including developing the product strategy, roadmap, and requirements
Someone who understands success depends upon spending time interacting with business partners and finding innovative solutions for the broader market
Ability to translate highly ambiguous business issues into structured problems, and to develop well founded solutions in a structured yet creative way
A hardworking product enthusiast with strong influential skills to align all dependent teams on the product vision and direction and to ensure execution against product development initiatives
Strong top down hypothesis driven approach to analyses, combined with ability to perform in-depth bottom up analyses
Tech savvy, having the skills to understand technical architecture across a set of systems
Advocate of agile processes to enable team delivery through speed and efficiency
A passion for data, with very strong quantitative skills who leans on data to form stories, uncover insight and support decisions
Exhibits high degree of pro-activeness in analyzing customer behavior using available data to inform vision and approach
Master's degree in a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience plus additional 10 years of experience
