Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering

We are Intelligence Service team needs you to help us build a personalization messaging platform to reach out to our customers. We are building an Omni channel communication / multi-tenant platform that helps reach our customers/partners with the right content at the right time through the right channel (Email, SMS & Push, and Chatbots). It will enable our teams across EG to connect with our customers in the most effective and personalized way with offers and most needed service communications.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying direction to drive growth and optimizing business results for all brands communication needs brand. You and your team will assess performance, surface opportunities for improvement, and partner closely with teams across the organization to ensure key business priorities are executed well end-to-end. You will have regular and frequent interaction with senior leaders across the organization and will need to build strong partnerships and maintain alignment to ensure that the overall Customer engagement and communication aspects of the customer is solved.

We are looking for experienced, energetic, and creative problem solvers to join our technology team! Your mission will unfold your ability to be flexible enough to work on all parts of the stack, including Java-based services, AWS, SQL, Python, Bigdata, and web front end (HTML, node, angular). You are someone with an acute focus on the customer vision and aim to break new ground to thrive in a dynamic, agile environment. We strive to be truly “full-stack” in not only development skills but design, testing, performance monitoring, etc. Here, you will both adapt to new technologies and enjoy working on complex problems simultaneously.

What you’ll do:

  • You will work with your team of developers to lead in the design and development of new features for the Omni-Channel Communications services

  • Be a Technology Leader by driving the roadmap execution and running the project(s) while planning new ones

  • Lead and continuously build strong engineering teams, to conceive and develop new product and technology concepts

  • Hold managers, architects, and engineers accountable for conducting process improvement initiatives

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of customers’ business challenges to shape thinking around the development of technology and implementation of solutions, leading to the creation of customized, groundbreaking solutions

  • Demonstrate the risks and benefits associated with the team’s work along with being an advocate but incorporate comments about changes without causing undue stress to the engineers on the team

  • Lead multiple concurrent, sophisticated, and/or unique projects and initiatives

  • Collaborate with architects across EG to create and promote a technology north star

  • Make decisions on product technology direction based on deep subject matter knowledge

  • Ensure optimal Full-Time Employee to contingent worker ratios and optimal location strategy are maintained across several teams and overall organization

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in any related field; or equivalent related professional experience along with 8–10 years of experience

  • Experienced people manager of high performing teams

  • Lead distributed teams, with shown experience mentoring and coaching

  • An executive communicator who can add structure to undefined problems, simplify insights into actions, and influence delivery through cross-functional teams

  • Curious and intuitive self-starter who is driven by continuously learning, optimizing, and iterating to drive profitable growth

  • You have a positive attitude, bias for action, and a growth mindset

  • Experiences working with product teams to define and deliver business-critical products

  • Strong Java or Solid experience in cloud platform services and architecture e.g. AWS

  • Full knowledge of continuous deployment and integration cycles
