Senior Software Development Engineer

We, at Expedia Global Payments (EGP) are looking for our technical engineering leader to help drive the development of our payments platform. Our services are the nexus of a globally distributed system that spans many organizations, processes $100B annually in more than 35 currencies across the globe. Our roadmap is deep and aims at making a difference to improve both our customers (travelers) and partners (hotels, airlines, etc.) experience.

You will join a team developing an innovative Payment Module uniquely designed to support the sophisticated payment scenarios that travel products require. We want to offer travelers the simplest and most reliable experience while paying for carefully crafted itineraries. We will make this capability easy to adopt and seamlessly integrate into any travel partners checkout page with an adaptive feature set.

What you’ll do:

• Experience developing fault tolerant distributed systems will make a difference

• Prior experience with e-Commerce systems, Payments Solutions and Providers will be helpful

• Practice of Agile Software Development mechanics.

• Background in Service Oriented Architecture implementation, service versioning, and backward compatibility

• Experience building your own automation and reporting tools to provide capabilities around your service

• Excellent coding skills

• Mentoring and growing Software Engineers

• Influence, critical thinking and the ability to produce across your team and beyond

• Strong Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structure, algorithms, and software development in distributed architecture

• Ability to lead code reviews and technical design meetings

• Delivering and operating tier-one services and applications

• Thorough understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and methodologies

• Ability to articulate technical design decisions and software implementation in technical forums

Who you are:

• 8+ years Software Development work experience (java/kotlin preferred)

• 5+ years creating and supporting Web Services in a high transactional environment

• 3+ years developing full stack applications (react preferred).

• Good written and verbal communication
