Senior Architect, eCommerce Checkout

The eCommerce Checkout organization is looking for a Senior Architect to help design and build our Checkout capabilities to power online travel businesses around the globe. We'll achieve that mission by defining the areas of our Checkout product portfolio that need to come together and developing a technology roadmap to make the work happen harmoniously, and at scale. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to influence and bring together cross-disciplinary teams to frame customer challenges, set shared technology goals, and achieve measurable results.
What you'll do:
Provide engineering leadership for a talented and diverse team of engineers
Lead complicated conversations across subject areas and organizations
Demonstrate aptitude to collaborate with different functions: product management, program management, architecture, and design
Demonstrate deep technical acuity
Design and build scalable, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed software systems
Write lots of code
Who you are:
Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
12+ years of work experience in the field of Software Engineering – Full Stack
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present advance technical information clearly and concisely
Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Experience in building high-performance, highly available and scalable distributed systems
Experience mentoring junior software engineers
