Job Description

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join its Regulatory Team in the Expedia Legal & Government Affairs group. We are looking for a lawyer to handle regulation in the e-commerce space as it relates to business-to-business relationships. This includes new regulation and government requests for information and investigations pertaining to existing business practices. General responsibilities include working on changing laws, helping the Government Affairs team with policy and input into laws, proposing compliance solutions and implementing compliance. This position will report to Senior Vice President Legal and will handle:

  • Working with Government Affairs on regulation and policy
  • Providing legal analysis of pending regulation and work on drafting or amending legislation
  • Represent Expedia in discussions with legislators and regulators regarding proposed and existing laws
  • Seek business input and propose solutions for implementation and compliance with new regulation or all Expedia Group lines of business
  • Representing the company in requests for information and investigations
  • Set up communications and work with other teams to ensure knowledge of laws and ongoing compliance

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of legal experience
  • Ability to work both independently and with multiple teams
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate directly and clearly
  • Common sense, great judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor
  • Great teammate with demonstrated skills to work effectively with colleagues and business clients
  • Results orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ethical and professional integrity
