Commission Analyst

This position requires someone with attention to detail, comfortable looking at large sets of data, and able to analyze complex airline contracts.

Your daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Reviewing airline contracts for Expedia globally, performing ad-hoc research and analysis, identify discrepancies, and troubleshooting any commission-related issues.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct a daily audit of airline tickets to validate commission gets applied as expected

  • Review airline contracts and implement commission terms into an internal database

  • Perform quality checks on all new and updated airline contract terms

  • Manage and track commission processes using JIRA

  • Investigate and troubleshoot commission related errors and communicating to the appropriate teams

  • Serve as a liaison with multiple cross-functional teams (Debit Memo, Settlement, and Ticketing, etc.) on process improvements, ad-hoc research, analysis, and reporting as needed

  • Investigate and analyze validity of airline debit memos escalated from vendors and assist team members in appropriate disputes with airline and/or GDS as needed
    Provide ad-hoc airline debit memo reports for various departments and be responsible for monthly metrics

Who you are:

  • 3+ years in operations or analysis with demonstrated experience in problem-solving

  • Attested experience within the travel industry with an understanding of reservations and ticketing strongly preferred

  • Intermediate/expert level experience with Microsoft Excel functions highly preferred; understanding of macros and VBA preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

  • Bachelor’s in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Aiming for Results - Setting high goals for accomplishment and tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals

  • Extraordinary risk management and problem-solving skills; a real passion for data with a rigorous approach to analysis

  • Deadline driven in a fast-paced environment to complete work effectively and efficiently

  • Excellent collaboration at all levels, including crisp and compelling verbal and written communication

  • Use a flexible approach, be a creative strategic thinker, and be able to adapt to changing circumstances or roles

  • Collaborative, yet influential; an experienced negotiator who is high-energy and convincing but willing to flex and compromise when appropriate
