Senior Program Manager

The Services Enablement team works across Expedia Group and interacts with many groups and products to deliver large, complex technology initiatives. As the Principal Senior Program Manager, you will play a meaningful role leading and supporting the efforts across Expedia Services group and broader EG. You will shape the future of Expedia by bringing a blend of product, strategy, and program management competencies to our portfolio of high visibility initiatives. This role inherently works across various functions - you will collaborate across multiple teams/divisions/locations to solve problems, learn fast and drive outcomes.
What you’ll do:
Initiative leadership & program management
You will lead large, long-range initiatives while delivering value incrementally by operating in an agile, rapid development environment
You will operate effectively within the organization's formal and informal structures by building relationships across departments and understanding the roles and perspectives of diverse partner groups
You will work across team boundaries with leaders and program managers of multiple products or efforts to appropriately prioritize work to gain alignment with overall initiative, organization, and company goals
You will actively identify and drive resolution on cross-team issues, scope changes, resource constraints, and other impediments
Who you are:
Program Management / Product Development Lifecycle
Experience creating the basic structure of a program from scratch including (when needed): Business case development, prioritization alignment, team engagement, identifying a sponsor, identifying stakeholders, 'sales' pitch to leadership, budget, etc. This will also include monitoring resource usage across projects or programs, identifying areas for improvements and looking for ways to optimize efficiency
Ability to keep abreast of the progress of multiple tracks within a program or across the department; coach project managers (or other program managers) to adjust priorities or timelines as needed
Keen eye for identification of improvements to the product development lifecycle for a product line
Proven ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
Experience applying Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
Leadership / Interpersonal / Communication
Demonstrated ability to deliver results by working across subject areas and organizational boundaries
Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills as well as experience working with senior management
Experience working cross-culturally and ability to adapt personal style to different environments
Problem Solving / Structuring / Analytical Abilities
Strong strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to see the “big picture” while also diving into details when needed
Creative decision-maker who can work independently and apply quantitative analyses to support tradeoff decisions
Strong program planning skills with experience structuring large initiatives in effective and meaningful ways
Bachelor's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or any other related fields; or equivalent related professional experience
6+ years of related experience in a world-class consulting firm, technology platform product management and/or large strategic program management
Experience in an eCommerce environment, is a plus
