Working with a team of Project Coordinators, Instructional and Multimedia designers, and Program Managers the Instructional Developer helps produce a complex range of learning assets, programs, and experiences. The Instructional Developer will have thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of adult and organizational learning, leveraging extensive technical skills and knowledge in digital and virtual learning design and construction.
What you’ll do:
Assesses learning and performance needs to recommend digital and instructor-led learning solutions that are optimized to deliver a great learner experience
Produces complex, significant and time-sensitive learning modules (instructor-led, eLearning, & blended) in collaboration with the design team
Applies expert knowledge of authoring tools to create dynamic and engaging content for digital and instructor-led learning programs
Consults with Instructional Designers, business stakeholders, and SMEs to ensure content is relevant, targeted, scalable, accessible, and results-driven
Provides technical direction to team members on project plans and assists in the coordination, scheduling, and delivery of design development services
Serves as an expert resource and consultant to the Design team regarding course development, course redesign, and technological solutions through individual consultations and observation; makes recommendations for modifications
Provides support in training colleagues and exercises functional supervision over work; coordinates daily workflow and sets priorities to meet project deadlines
Reviews and recommends changes to operating procedures, tools/technologies and systems designed to improve team efficiency, design standards and learner engagement
Develops and implements course and program designs based on specific target audiences, including methods and techniques based on needs of learners and facilitators
Troubleshoots technical problems via reported learner issues
Who you are:
Bachelor’s in Instructional Design, Education or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience
Four to six years of progressively responsible experience.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and ability in the following areas:
a. e-Learning (Articulate, Captivate, and web languages are a plus)
b. Instructor-led session design (including virtual delivery)
c. Storyboarding, scripting and/or technical writing
d. Multi-media development (graphic and/or audio-visual design)
e. Learning Management System (LMS) support
f. Current and emerging education technologies
h. Visual and/or UX design capabilities as applied to instructional development
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people in a collaborative environment
Demonstrated experience in project management
Knowledge and experience with facilitating seminars and training
