The Expedia Group Experience Lab team explores and accelerates next-generation product and service experiences that advance our brand, evolve our technology, and bring customer-centered innovation to the travel industry! Here's just some of what you’ll contribute to as a member of our team: 

  • Co-creating new products and services with Expedia customers 

  • Applying human-centered design methods to deliver measurable customer and business value 

  • Rapidly uncovering emerging trends in products, services, technology, and customer behavior, and sharing what we learn across the organization 

  • Accelerate the creation and delivery of new and emerging customer experiences  

  • Build differentiated work that advances our brand and charts the course for our industry 

  • Strategically build and maintain a network of key contacts, both in and outside of the company, who can partner with us to achieve results. 

 

You’ll craft content for as-yet-unimagined experiences, shape the narrative around ideas we explore, and document the forward-thinking work our Experience Lab delivers. You’ll also participate in synthesis and readouts, sharing Experience Lab’s work both internally and outside the company.   

 

What you'll do:   

  • Conceptualize, design, and deliver novel, high-quality content solutions for new and next-generation products and services. 

  • Have a high bar for quality, regardless of whether you’re co-creating a product prototype or building a strategic presentation. 

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, engineers, and product teams to prototype new and differentiated digital experiences for customer testing and validation. 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to translate customer and industry insights into meaningful, impactful readouts. 

  • Employ content modeling and other techniques as needed for systemic content challenges. (For example, you might need to help articulate how a futuristic UI works in harmony with a legacy tech stack and CMS.) 

  • Facilitate teamwork and co-creation among partners and customers with varied perspectives. 

  • Experiment with reusable content frameworks, and contribute artifacts and thought leadership to our Content Strategy practice.  

  • Seek out, synthesize, and publish trends and insights on behalf of the Experience Lab for both internal and external customers. 

Who you are:  

 

We realize that content strategy and content design are constantly evolving, and we know that no two people enter this field through the same path. So we're not expecting you to be a specialist in everything listed here, but we do ask that you demonstrate expertise commensurate with the job level in whichever methods you apply. We're also looking for people who will contribute frameworks to our growing team and our design system, so we're excited to see how you scale your thinking!   

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, as well as experience in core skills such as UX Writing, Content Audits and Analysis, Content Mapping and Modeling, Content Planning and Sourcing, Conversational Design (voice a plus!) , Information Architecture, and Storytelling. (This is not a content marketing role.)  

  • 5+ years of professional experience leading initiatives in content strategy/content design within a consultancy or technology company. (Hands-on experience with a technology platform or platform company is especially useful!) 

  • Sophisticated and versatile skills in crafting content for emerging digital products and services. 

  • Outstanding documentation skills, with bonus points if you’ve used Confluence and SharePoint in well-structured ways to capture your work. 

  • Ability to audit, analyze, structure, design, and present content independently using established frameworks. 

  • Confidence presenting work to senior leadership. 

  • Proven experience with facilitation and workshopping.    

  • A future-thinker with a journalist’s spirit and a passion for travel — someone who’s always looking at what’s next!
