Senior Manager, Government & Corporate Affairs (Japan)
Expedia Group is the world’s largest online travel marketplace. It operates more than 200 websites in more than 75 countries, working with more than 550 airlines and almost 900,000 hotel partners around the world. Japan is a key market for Expedia Group from an inbound (foreign travellers using Expedia to travel to Japan), outbound (Japanese customers traveling to other countries) and domestic perspective.
Your main focus would be around developing strong ties with Expedia Group's key government stakeholders – Members of Parliament, local government representatives and local government bureaucrats. Working closely with the Group’s legal and tax teams, and local business leaders, you will help the Group advocate on local regulatory issues, develop partnerships with the central and local governments, and provide input on local business strategy.
You will also be responsible for the representative role for Expedia within the Japan Association of Vacation Rental (JAVR).
You will passionately describe the economic and social value that Expedia Group and our other brands, like Hotels.com, bring to the Japanese tourism and travel industry. You will monitor regulatory developments at the local level and provide detailed reporting on opportunities, challenges, obstacles, and matters requiring urgent, manager or director level attention.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Government and Corporate Affairs, ASIA, you will also work with the Director, Government and Corporate Affairs, ANZ for broad and strategic guidance and direction.
