Senior Design Strategist
At Expedia Group, our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. As a Senior Design Strategist on our XD (Experience Design) team, you'll contribute to product experiences and strategic visions that paint a clear, compelling picture of our future.
Working at the intersection of business strategy and experience design, this role drives discovery, and experience-strategy tracks for large problem spaces across Expedia Group. Typically collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Researchers, Analysts, and other Strategists, this person works systemically to identify challenges, uncover new customer and business opportunities, and apply a holistic perspective to our customer experiences.
As part of this work, the Senior Design Strategist establishes and evangelizes new methods for approaching innovation and co-creating new experiences with Expedia Group customers and partners. They are a leader in uncovering and publishing new advancements in emerging technology, AI, and customer behavior. They can define what success looks like for our customers and our business!
What you’ll do:
Apply both qualitative and quantitative insights from customer research and analytics to develop impactful business cases that support new opportunity areas
Develop, drive, and guide standard methodologies for framing, problem-solving, and synthesis of customer and business insights
Envision, architect, and drive compelling customer experience visions and strategies, as well as establish success metrics at the organizational level
Contribute to an organizational culture that champions innovation through creative ambition and collaborative development of ideas
Champion thoughtful, holistic experiences and hold the design organization accountable to a high-quality bar
Lead collaborative efforts with key leadership partners and contribute subject matter expertise to identify which processes should be standardized and which should differ
Provide mentorship when evaluating the impacts of a solution to ensure linkages between structure, process, and technology
Contribute to major evolutions of experience strategy and capabilities
Encourage team members and partners to be passionate about putting our customers first
Who you are:
Bachelor's in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
A futurist – always looking at what’s next
5+ years of experience in senior- or lead-level strategy roles, getting results for clients within an agency, consultancy, or tech company
Strong appreciation for human-centered design and outstanding customer experiences, and a track record of collaboration with creative partners
History of developing cohesive, compelling strategic visions for experience, product, and service challenges
Shown thought and domain leadership
