UX Designer III (1 year fixed term contract)

Want to join a diverse group of designers helping millions of people experience the world through travel? We’re looking for a self-motivated problem-finder-solver to join our fantastic Traveller experience design team. You'll collaborate with our product managers, researchers, data scientists, engineers and more to craft customer experiences on a global scale, across devices and platforms. 

In this role you'll be focusing on the Inspire and Research stages of our customers' journey, and is responsible for driving Recommendation and Native convergence opportunities across Expedia Group

What you'll do: 

  • Synthesise insights from quantitative and qualitative data in ambiguous problem spaces to identify customer needs and opportunities 

  • Help define experience vision and strategy 

  • Design the information organisation, aesthetic look and feel, interactions, and experience flows for elements of user experiences using sketches, storyboards, wireframes, comps and prototypes 

  • Build compelling narratives to explain design rationale, grounded in customer and business insights 

  • Mentor other designers and advocate for design standards 

  • Design inclusive products by default 

  • Think about design as a system, contributing to our component library as a way to influence both quality and efficiency for our teams and products 

Who you are: 

  • Comfortable at all stages of a human-centred design process 

  • You sweat the detail – you're committed to quality and thinking about all use cases 

  • You relish designing for complex, nuanced problem spaces (this role will involve lots of these!) 

  • An excellent storyteller and communicator 

  • Experience in collaborating with product management, engineering, research and analytics partners 

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of professional experience in user experience design, product design, human-computer interaction, or other related design field 

  • A strong portfolio that you’re proud of, demonstrating your design process and outcomes
