Vice President, Growth Marketing - Metasearch

Expedia Group’s Global Growth Marketing team is focused on acquiring and maximizing the value of travelers for all Expedia brands worldwide through a myriad of upper, mid, and lower funnel marketing channels. The team is highly results-oriented and focuses on leveraging technology to scale marketing programs that drive new customers and maximize lifetime value.

Metasearch marketing is a dynamic, competitive, and highly analytical auction-based performance marketing discipline.  Expedia Group leverages this type of marketing on sites such as Google Hotel Ads, Trivago and TripAdvisor.  The Metasearch team applies business acumen, predictive modeling, and technology to invest into these auctions and reach travelers as effectively and efficiently as possible.

This Vice President will lead an end-to-end organization responsible for delivering Metasearch results.  If you thrive in a complex environment that is constantly changing, requiring operations and processes focused on speed, execution, and incremental improvement, as well as a strategic vision and an ability to look around corners this is the role for you!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead an end-to-end organization responsible for delivering Metasearch results for Expedia Group
    • Campaign Management: manage the P&L, partner relationships, campaign optimization and prioritization of work across all direct and partner teams
    • Strategy & BI: set the vision for the channel, tied to the overall direction of Expedia Group
    • Product Management: direct the product roadmap, determining the requirements for the software development team
    • Bidding Operations: build, test and streamline the processes required for continuously placing bids across millions of auctions
    • Software Development: develop and innovate the in-house Metasearch advertising platform, from channel measurement to partner integrations and the bid management platform

  • Set high standards for success, raise the hiring bar to build and develop high performing teams.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing Analytics & Optimization, Finance) to run your channel in line with the priorities of the organization and communicate results to executives
  • Lead advertising partnership relationships and set joint product and technology objectives with partners to maximize the value of these relationship for both the partners and EG

Who you are:

  • Demonstrated ability in assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced online environment
  • An accomplished executive with a proven track record of building and leading high performing teams in technology companies
  • A successful and influential leader with solid experience working with engineering and/or data science teams
  • Insightful with knowledge and understanding of direct response marketing principles and methodologies
  • Possessing strong analytical abilities, especially with respect to experimental design and analysis
  • A big picture thinker with the ability and willingness to execute rapidly
  • Results driven, ideally in B2C customer acquisition, lead generation and/or revenue generation, specifically utilizing large scale automated advertising programs
  • Resourceful and savvy in leveraging large data sets to create sophisticated advertising programs
  • A global mindset and collaborative leader who is equally comfortable working with marketers, product managers, engineers, and teams ranging from finance to analytics
