We are building the next generation of trip management and planning experiences to enable millions of our travellers to experience the trips they will remember forever! You will develop and test asynchronous software applications and procedures as per the design requirements. You will own the continuous integration and deployment, support and maintenance for these applications.
You will craft code that is clean, maintainable, optimised, modular following the best development practices
You will team up with peers across the organization to build an understanding of cross dependencies and shared problem-solving.
You will understand the relationship between applications, databases, and technology platforms, thereby continuously learning new technical skills
You will spot areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements.
You will strive for operational excellence focusing on being first to know, quick to fix, doing root cause analysis and consistently improving the stack
5+ years of software development experience in backend development, following agile methodologies
Proficiency in JVM languages like Java, Scala, Kotlin, and lightweight frameworks and libraries
Experience with large scale services using Cloud architecture, gRPC, Kafka and relational databases is a huge plus.
Experience with AWS and automated application deployment using Kubernetes; or similar.
Able to understand and design moderately complex systems, that are easily testable and observable
Demonstrate the ability to select among technology available to implement and solve for need.
Understanding of testing and monitoring tools (like Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, etc.).
Ability to test, debug, fix issues within established SLAs.
Understanding of how teams’ goals fit a business need.
Ability to identify business problems at the project level and provide solutions.
