Senior Designer, Employee Experience

At Expedia Group, our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. As a Senior Experience Designer, Employee Experience, for our Experience Design organization, you'll help us achieve that mission by crafting an employee experience that uplifts and empowers our diverse global workforce. You’ll shine new light on the employee lifecycle and partner across divisions to ensure that every touchpoint feels meaningful and intentionally designed

While your work will be anchored in human-centered design, you'll also bring a solid business sensibility and an analytical mind to the role. You'll participate in generative research to uncover employee needs. You'll build concept sketches, user flows, prototypes, and related artifacts to bring ideas to life. And you'll collaborate with internal teams to launch, test, and continuously improve on solutions. As a champion for outstanding employee experiences, you'll show up with curiosity and passion, engaging with peers across the company to turn insights into action

What you’ll do:

Applying human-centered methodologies as well as UX and interaction-design principles, you'll bridge systems, processes, and people to enable a meaningful employee experience. The solutions you craft will solve real employee and business problems that reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and streamline processes, technologies, and operations

  • Under the direction of our head of Employee Experience, and in partnership with our service design practice, you'll support HR, Talent Acquisition, and other internal teams in the creation of employee-centric products and services

  • Partnering with our User Research Center of Excellence, you'll influence studies and use quantitative and qualitative insights to craft business- and user-focused strategic recommendations

  • You'll reveal the human needs within our workforce, bridge employee-experience goals with business outcomes, and translate concepts into user flows, concept sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and other artifacts for intuitive user experiences

  • You’ll contribute reusable components, patterns, and templates to our enterprise design system, optimizing for flexibility, visual appeal, and brand distinction

  • As an integral member of our XD (Experience Design) community, you'll help bring human-centered design within reach for all of Expedia Group

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in digital product/experience design; experience in HR settings desirable but not required

  • Comprehensive understanding of modern experience design practices, including accessibility and inclusive design

  • Proven ability to use storytelling to explain insights gathered from data, research, and other technical domains

  • Collaborative, curious, and thoughtful, with a beginner's mentality and first-principles approach to problem-solving

  • Champion for effortless, intuitive, customer-centered experiences. You understand that perfection is an iterative goal, but you sweat the details and hold yourself and others to a high bar

  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates your capabilities in all the above, with attention to user interface and interaction design, as well as information architecture
