Our team is building a cutting-edge lodging shopping platform to allow customers to explore hotels, vacation rentals, resorts, and more to find their ultimate travel destination! We focus on the customer facing lodging search and detail pages and provide performant groundbreaking APIs used across the company. We are building a dynamic user experience while also keeping performance at the forefront – constantly enhancing the system which prices and sorts thousands of properties per second. Our entire infrastructure handles millions of requests per minute which requires scalability, reliability, and high performance to ensure the best customer experience. Our platform serves customers on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices on Expedia sites and through a variety of partners.
What you’ll do:
You will be involved in different stages of the product development lifecycle from idea generation to bringing a product to market by supporting the different phases and improving product performance
You will develop project timelines and prioritize tasks to achieve project milestones and deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed. In addition, you will identify the types of resources required to support a project, and make recommendations for specific people, technology, partners etc.
You will participate in the software development lifecycle and how various agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing)
You will lead and mentor others
You will coordinate bringing together different partners with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues and contribute your own suggestions
You will think holistically to find opportunities around policies/processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries. Coordinate with team members to execute new ideas or approaches and achieve process improvement goals
You will consider and understand the audience’s specific needs and comprehension level to determine the most appropriate message and delivery method, limiting or explaining technical language
Who you are:
4-6 years of program/project management within a technology environment with a record of leading and delivering multiple software systems or services simultaneously involving cross-functional teams
Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional technical information (e.g., user flows, technical system design and workflows) and is able to accurately answer relevant questions
Experience building clear, concise, and well-structured functional material (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages) and recommends improvements to existing material
Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners
Experience tailoring communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively
Self-starter able to creatively resolve complicated business and technology problems in ambiguous situations
