Expedia’s Media Solutions team is looking for an analytical, entrepreneurial, and creative Product Manager to help grow our media business globally by delighting customers with innovative advertising solutions. As Product Manager, Media Solutions, you collaborate closely with partners across various functional teams and brands within Expedia Group to find opportunities to optimize and expand the performance media business and product portfolio, while delivering value to end consumer.
You will produce and defend the business case for media placements, and think creatively about pricing strategies to support those placements. To succeed, you will operate resourcefully and independently in an ambiguous environment and be a strong product thinker.
Collaboration is key to success on our team. The role is inherently cross-functional. You will have the opportunity to work together with sales, product, engineering, analytics, operations, and external partners. You will balance multiple challenging priorities as you work to negotiate successful outcomes for customers, as well as advertisers, partners and Expedia Group. You are highly analytical and resourceful, able to use creative problem-solving skills to move quickly from ideation to implementation and/or resolution with a detailed understanding. You will need to demonstrate a bias to action, a high degree of focus and the ability to juggle several projects successfully while maintaining a strategic view of the Media Solutions business.
What you’ll do
Partner with sales, finance, operations and line of business owners to support and grow media revenues from our existing portfolio of products and placements
Identify new opportunities and work with your partners to come up with creative and mutually beneficial solutions to business problems
Support global product and sales initiatives around sponsored placements
Actively provide sales with product support required to win new business and know how to turn sales requests into sellable products that simultaneously enhance the customer experience
Engage with engineering teams to plan and deploy products
Spearhead multiple projects and details without losing site of the ‘big picture’
Be a tireless advocate for Media Solutions interests and values in every interaction throughout the organization
Be self-directed and able to move forward in a dynamic, somewhat ambiguous environment
Be able to establish and formalize processes and documentation to support product development and collaboration with external teams
Who you are:
Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience in online advertising, business management and/or product development
Holds an understanding of the fundamentals of these core Product Management skills e.g., Agile Practices, communication, data science principles, listening, scientific method, reverse engineering, business acumen, influence and risk taking.
Has a solid understanding of decision-making frameworks and can develop advanced frameworks to test hypotheses.
Experienced in owning product areas and related product development lifecycle.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable with using numbers and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes; experience with financial modeling and statistics is a plus
Experience working directly with sales, engineering, analytics and operations teams
