This is a unique entry-level position allowing you to gain experience in many different areas of Accounting. Primarily focused in Accounts Receivable and General Ledger with additional Merchant Accounts Payable responsibilities. Responsible for overseeing the daily cash reporting and reconciliation, along with the associated month-end journal entries. Additional responsibilities in overseeing the day-to-day operations of billing and payment issues, including the credit card overcharge process.
Prepare daily and weekly cash reporting and forecasts as well as the reconciliation of domestic and international accounts by application of credit card receipts.
Responsible for researching and reconciling variances between Cash and AR and documenting accurately account variances and resolutions necessary
Participate in month-end processes, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, or analysis as needed
Work with various teams to provide data in support of statutory and/or financial audits worldwide and build and maintain internal and external relationships
Responsible for communicating directly with hotel vendors and credit card issuer on recovery of credit card overcharges as well as gather information, monitor credit card rebuttals, and communicate with external customers to resolve issues
Meet internal and external deadlines for billing issue resolution
Ad hoc duties as assigned
BS degree in Accounting or equivalent related professional experience
1+ years of accounting-related experience, preferably in a large growth-oriented international organization or high-tech company
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to analyze large amounts of data to solve difficult to complex issues
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to articulate clearly complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding
Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional network outside immediate group to ensure strong customer focus
Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
