At Expedia Group, our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. As Senior Director/VP of Design, specific to Employee Experience for our Experience Design organization, you'll help us achieve that mission by crafting an employee experience that uplifts and empowers our diverse global workforce. Reporting directly to our SVP, Head of Design, you'll shine new light on the employee lifecycle and partner across divisions to ensure that every touchpoint feels meaningful and intentionally designed.
While your work will be anchored in human-centered design, you'll also bring a heightened business sensibility and an analytical mind to the role. You'll lead generative research to uncover employee needs. You'll create service maps, prototypes, and related artifacts to bring ideas to life. And you'll collaborate with internal teams to launch, test, and continuously improve on solutions. As a champion for outstanding employee experiences, you'll show up with curiosity and passion, engaging with our teams to gather feedback and turn insights into action!
What you’ll do:
Applying human-centered methodologies and service-design frameworks, you'll identify and articulate priorities for employees and the company throughout their shared journey. The solutions your team designs will solve real employee problems that reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and streamline processes, technologies, and operations.
Partnering with Analytics and Workforce Technology, you'll research, design, test, and ship quarterly and multi-year improvements to HR products, services, and platforms.
You'll provide input into how employee challenges are prioritized and measured and establish cadences with senior leaders to review and act on the data.
You'll promote and build capabilities in UX design, process excellence, and enterprise content strategy within the People organization.
You'll mentor product and service teams to identify, interpret, and make decisions using employee data.
You'll be a leading voice on human-centered design, design thinking, and service design for all of Expedia Group.
Who you are (Skills & Experience):
10+ years of proven experience leading digital and/or service design teams in an HR setting.
Proven ability to lead and influence both technical and non-technical teams through large-scale, multi-year changes to HR systems and technologies.
Deep understanding of modern experience design practices, including accessibility and inclusive design.
Proven ability to use storytelling to explain insights gathered from data, research, and other technical domains.
Highly collaborative and curious, with a beginner's mentality and first-principles approach to problem-solving.
In-depth, working knowledge of enterprise content and knowledge management systems (ServiceNow is a plus!) along with device and connectivity capability to a variety of platforms.
