You will be defining and driving the analysis, measurement, and optimisation of Content – a core platform capability that powers customer engagement for all Expedia Group brands. In this exciting area of the platform, you’ll work with our Product and Technology partners, and across brands to analyse Content such as property media (images, tours), destination guides or customer reviews.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply your expertise in data modelling, quantitative analysis, data mining, data visualisation with a goal of improving customer experience and business results with a deep focus on impactful analytics
  • Own and develop a metrics framework your product, building accurate and easy to consume dashboards/reports
  • Collaborate with product teams on goal setting, product performance reviews, and strategy planning
  • Partner closely with technical and non-technical teams, to answer complex business and user behaviour questions, with a focus on meaningful insights
  • Proactively engage with multiple departments across the organisation, including Product, Engineering, and Finance, to tackle problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Present analytics insights in product reviews, analytics community meetings; socialise your insights to benefit others across Expedia Group
  • Own end to end process in evaluating A/B or multivariate tests to improve learning; proactively uncover opportunities and recommend new features for test and learn; evaluate and apply alternative methods to supplement randomised testing

Who You Are

General Skills:

  • 4+ years’ data analytics experience in a business context
  • Passionate about solving problems and relishes intellectual challenges
  • Curious by nature with an enthusiasm for making an impact
  • Able to structure / work on data exploration problems, with innovative approaches and solutions, bringing to bear strong reporting and data visualisation skills
  • Able to work across different business units/countries and communicate the results of sophisticated analyses in a clear and effective manner company-wide
  • Excellent logical thinker, with a background in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, engineering, operations research, data science or similar, and a scientific approach to problem-solving (i.e. ability to ask the right questions and craft appropriate analyses to answer them)
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with ambiguity. A sharp focus on results and strong attention to detail
  • Experience in online retail preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Expert with large data sets and proficient in SQL
  • Proficient in building data visualisations (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Experience in building, evaluating, and selecting models
  • Understanding of statistics and hypothesis testing (ex. Confidence Interval, Regressions, Time Series, Clustering, Factor Analysis)
  • Strong in A/B testing design and analysis
  • Experience with big data tools / languages (Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
  • Experience with R, Python, or other coding language a plus
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics a plus
