Social Media Specialist

The Media Solutions Creative Partnerships Team is seeking a Social Media Specialist to support our growing partnerships across the globe and off-platform strategy. Do you have passion for connecting people to places and building a sense of community? If so, this role may be a good fit for you

The primary goals and responsibilities involve supporting all paid-social media campaign strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners. As the Social Media Specialist, you will work together with the Social Strategy Manager and be responsible for keeping all partners informed and engaged in our social media product offerings; establishing methodologies to ensure team efficiencies. This individual will rely heavily on creativity and ingenuity, while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

As a member of the team, we see you helping build Expedia’s brand through its social channels and improve the value of our off-platform advertising solutions. You will assist in crafting authentic creative solutions with a social focused lens, discover and plan new opportunities to scale, and ensure all campaigns' reporting metrics are met alongside partner objectives

Lead planning and implementation of all standardized paid-social solutions from end-to-end, while improving workflow processes for effective execution of marketing efforts

What you'll do:

  • Manage campaign performance reporting and metrics to drive impactful insights and findings on all social media marketing efforts, ensuring key social metrics are met along with the partner objectives

  • Assist in developing a scalable content strategy for all social product offerings; ensuring content is on-brand and consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice

  • Help develop and maintain an operational playbook to drive engagement and increase customer acquisition through testing new offerings, market opportunities, and objectives

  • Collaborate with partner teams to share insights on social media successes, platform updates, campaigns, resources, reporting, toolkits, etc

  • Engage in brainstorms, planning, and executions with the Creative Partnerships team to fully develop social-lead concepts

  • Support the growing paid-social program through improved communications, clear expectations, and streamlined processes which enable business expansion

  • Support the team through market research and industry benchmarking to improve program strategy

  • Assist in building culture of global sharing to accelerate customer attachment through social and content efforts

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s in marketing, communications, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 2-4 years related experience is required

  • Social media and digital experience, both community and direct response, required with knowledge of analytics, tracking and social media monitoring tools

  • Prior experience in tools like Salesforce, WordPress, Omniture, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Excel etc. a plus

  • Up to date with emerging technology, advances in digital media, and the latest social media trends

  • Competency in coordinating programs with global teammates

  • Outgoing; self-guided; creative; responsible; organized; ambitious; eager to work with other departments and independently; has a desire to see measured results

  • Is skilled at looking at things from another person’s perspective and providing information that speaks to target audiences

  • Comfortable with fast paced working environments and tight deadlines, required

  • Excellent writing, communications, and interpersonal skills
