Product Designer III, Apps

As a Product Designer III, Apps, your work will enhance the Hotwire traveler experience through cohesive and exciting efforts in solving customer problems specifically for our iOS and Android apps. You'll work with a close-knit team on a variety of end-to-end projects and be involved in every aspect of the design process, from framing big problems to tweaking pixels just before launch. Ensure your designs build on the customer experience in a cohesive way.

Your role will include working within our design system on end-to-end delivery projects touching on everything from discovery, to wireframing, to prototyping, to usability testing. You’ll sync with the main hub of designers for design reviews, feedback, and team happenings

What you'll do:

  • Quickly build prototypes for design exploration and user testing

  • Work closely with product teams to deliver wealthy iOS and Android products and features

  • Influence strategy for a project or product area by articulating a coherent UX vision based on clear, impactful problem/opportunity statements.

  • Craft forward-thinking UI and visual design specifications and comprehensive product experiences for web and mobile

  • Advocate and design for UX consistency, localization, internationalization, and accessibility

Who you are:

  • 4-6 years of professional design experience in consumer-facing products

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating your past work, design methodology and abilities, including product and systems thinking, prototyping and interaction design

  • Strong understanding of current mobile standard methodologies, design patterns and trends

  • Ability to own and deliver end-to-end experiences in a fast-paced agile environment

  • Ability to articulate and champion your ideas to creative, product, engineering, and leadership teams

  • Experience working within an existing design system and contributing to the system

  • Experience working in Figma

  • An optimistic outlook, intrinsic self-motivation, and a drive for doing what’s right for the customer and the company

Good to have:

  • Proficient prototyping skills

  • Experience in e-commerce

  • An eagerness to adapt, learn and constantly evolve

  • A love for metrics

  • A passion for travel
