Expedia Group is building the world’s Travel Platform. Our Virtual Agents use AI to learn new capabilities and continuously improve through network effects.

We are looking for a Director - Product Management with a scientific mindset and a passion for building extraordinary customer and developer experiences. This leader will be at the forefront of technology, helping to define Expedia’s next moonshot while pioneering a new interaction model. This position will primarily focus on conversation platform Domain that will deliver all conversational experiences across traveller, partners and agent experiences via admin console. 

The Director - Product Management primary responsibility is to build products and solutions that deliver experiences for the conversation platform partners and think of entire ecosystem including travelers, suppliers and agents. In this role the Director of Product Management will partner with various groups across EG that drive customer conversations at various touchpoints.

What you'll do:

  • Create product vision and drive the roadmap, execution, and strategy for a Portfolio or Program of products, projects, and initiatives 

  • Partner closely with engineering, UX, and business leaders to deliver solutions that satisfy customer experience, business, and technology goals 

  • Represent the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders; A natural design thinker that can synthesize requirements into a common set of platform and services capabilities, writing very clear, thorough and detailed user stories for complex features and product sets

  • Build scalable architecture allowing other teams to rapidly enable conversation features while maintaining overall conversation quality 

  • Define a set of success metrics to measure customer satisfaction and business impact and be able to utilize them in decision-making 

  • Use excellent judgment in prioritizing between focusing on existing versus new customers and between features, architectural improvements and operational excellence 

  • Stay on top of customer preferences, technology trends, and market demand 

  • Lead the organization through change, evolution, and growth; the right leader will evolve and scale the organization along with the business 

Who you are: 

  • Strong technical skills with a sound understand of API First (or API lead ecosystems) complex systems

  • Aptitude and comfort to collaborate with engineering teams to build robust, reliable and scalable communication systems

  • Experience working with large data and leveraging insights to drive a personalized rich experience

  • Experience in thinking, building, scaling platforms

  • Previous success leading the complete roadmap development, ownership, and execution 

  • Experience driving a program which is a complex portfolio of Product, Tech/Engineering and Operations initiatives 

  • Experience in communications domain a big plus

  • Natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth 

  • Bias to action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast-moving environment 

  • Responds effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations 

  • Leads mostly with questions rather than opinions, thriving on the opportunity to own, innovate, create, and constantly re-evaluate 

  • Comfortable making recommendations across competing and equally critical business needs 

  • Simplifies, clearly and succinctly conveys complex information and ideas to individuals at all levels of the organization 

  • Motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with the enthusiasm and drive to motivate your team and the wider organization

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent field required; or equivalent related professional experience
