Director - Development Engineering
Supply Connectivity team within Marketplaces and Yield division is looking for Director of Engineering role that will be providing technical leadership and oversight for multiple engineering teams. The role will lead and manage teams responsible for delivering technology solutions that powers the external facing APIs for Expedia Group’s supply partners.
As a Director of software engineering, you will be responsible for global team of managers, software engineers and Technical Program managers. . You will bring your experience and strategic thought leadership to craft the future of the travel platform. You and your teams will collaborate with your product counterparts to define a roadmap and deliver technology solutions to help meet our business goals.

Lead, grow, and develop managers, software engineers and Technical Program managers through effective hiring, mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies
Work with teams to define a high-level technology strategy for your areas of responsibility tend ensure it aligns to wider tech strategies for Expedia Group
Partner with Product management team in building product roadmap
Partner with technology leaders outside their organization and advocate for designing and architecting software that is scalable, resilient, and stable
Remove team barriers in implementing new ideas or approaches by securing the necessary resources or support from senior management
Create an excellent customer experience, raising the bar on functionality, usability, and simplicity
Define objectives, key results, and key performance indicators, and be accountable for tracking against them
Build a positive work environment based on accountability and inclusiveness
Who you are:
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
5+ years of people management experience in managing several globally distributed teams.
5+ years of experience in building distributed large scale enterprise applications
Proven ability to prioritize multiple ambitious priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Led teams that have built and operated highly available and scalable distributed systems
Strong hands-on technical expertise across cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure), web services (REST, GRPC, GraphQL), NoSQL database and open-source solutions.
Influences and delivers across multiple teams spanning BU, working in collaboration with product team
Possess strong technical and business acumen
