Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Expedia is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to work with our legal team in Brazil. This team handles the legal challenges of Expedia Group in Latin America, which comprehends primarily the brands Expedia, and Vrbo. This is a rare opportunity to join the ELCA (Expedia Legal & Corporate Affairs), a team that is professional, collaborative and highly respected. The applicant will be very detail orientated and eager to learn and grow in their career with Expedia.

What you’ll do: 

  • Handle, review and compile information related to consumer litigation, including financial reports, outside counsel costs and metric analysis.

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate the settlement of consumer lawsuits and administrative claims.

  • Assist in preparing, translating, filing, editing and proofreading a variety of legal documents, reports and presentations.

  • Handle the flow of documents received and ensure that they reach the appropriate teams.

  • Handle the day-to-day logistics and administrative activities to support our legal staff.

  • Manage and maintain the database of hardcopy and electronic documents.

  • Ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Who you are: 

  • Concluded or ongoing bachelor’s degree with experience with a top-notch law firm or in an in-house legal environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluent Portuguese and English.

  • Strong organizational skills with superb attention to detail, analytical posture and ability to work in a multitask and fast-paced team environment that values high performance and ownership.

  • Proactivity and analytical skills to review and improve internal processes.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships.

  • Ability to set priorities and exercise judgment and problem solving.

  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with minimal direction.

  • Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
