Marketing Copywriter Specialist

Canada - British Columbia - Vancouver


Expedia Cruises has a need for a talented Marketing Copywriter Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing our brand voice to life through all consumer marketing channels including email marketing, website, retail advertising, and print. As the lead copywriter, this role is accountable to creating new consumer copy, while playing a supporting role to other team members to ensure that the standard for our brand voice is maintained throughout all pieces.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Bringing our brand personality to life through various consumer email segments, at the regional and national level
  • Generating engaging copy focused on the cruising experience, destinations, ships, and offers
  • Producing emails and landing pages in support of core promotions and paid media
  • Collaborating with the Email Marketing Specialist to drive further engagement through our A/B testing strategy
  • Content creation for our monthly consumer editorial piece, landing page copy, and a variety of print advertising material including advertisements, and flyers
  • Supporting the copy development of our consumer video strategy
  • Supporting our Franchisees as it relates to the development and execution of their regional campaigns
  • Create resource articles to support our network of Franchisees

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Create, proof, and deploy a variety of email marketing newsletters and website landing pages in support of the overall marketing strategy for both National and Center-level initiatives.
  • Research, write, edit, and maintain compelling content for use in email newsletter campaigns, promotional landing pages, webpages, social channels, etc.
  • Ensure all content and campaigns produced meet brand standards, follow existing design templates and best practices, and supports the online marketing strategy.
  • Liaise with internal and external resources for campaign scheduling, approvals, copy and graphical assets, product requests, edits, translations, etc.
  • Prepare campaign invoicing requisitions, backup materials, and supporting metrics to key partners.
  • Provide administrative and marketing support for multiple existing programs as needed

Experience and Qualification:

  • A degree in Marketing or Communications or related discipline
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Copywriting or similar role
  • Consumer related advertising and marketing experience


  • Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (PC environment) with understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and web authoring tools (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, CMS platforms)
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines at a time and can reset priorities quickly as needed
  • Very organized with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently on multiple projects within project schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume work environment
  • An understanding of business and marketing principles
  • Highly motivated, high energy and enjoys working in fun environment
  • A passion for travel and loves to learn
