Senior Analyst, People Analytics
The People Team is seeking a Senior Analyst, People Analytics to actively glean key insights and share them with the HR organization. Do you like to create, develop, and implement data visualizations and self-service tools that drive evidence-based human capital decisions and programs? Then this is the job for you! This is a rare role in the small but mighty People Analytics team which delivers insights, solutions, and analysis regarding current and future talent at Expedia. As an integral member of the team, you will partner with leaders across the team to answer frequent questions using existing tools, use data in new and unusual ways and make agile changes to our existing analytics platform and methodologies. We strive to provide data-at-your-fingertips and impactful analysis across the entire People Team - and ultimately to all leaders across Expedia. The Senior Analyst collaborates with the Senior Manager, People Analytics, and team, and will be passionate about business insights, HR, and the opportunities to use data and technology to improve people decisions.
What you’ll do:
Surface insights about Expedia's people through effective storytelling
Communicate new and existing analytical solutions
Be comfortable working with our tools to make more data available and make our reporting easier to use
Work directly with employee life-cycle data from pre-entry into the HRIS system, to potential data cleansing, to analysis, and ultimately presenting insights to HR leaders and the organization
Bridge data insights into recommended action
Who you are:
Passion for, and understanding of, HR, analytics, and travel industry
Ability to craft insights from data at the enterprise level
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required, specifically related to working with large data sets to glean trends, analysis and insights and connecting disparate data sources
Experience using Tableau, or other HR systems and business intelligence tools (e.g. Workday) is preferred; development in such tools is a plus
Robust communication skills capable of sharing delivered and requested analysis to an analytical crowd as well as the broad HR population via email, blog, newsletters, training, demos etc.
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Information/Computer Science or any other related fields; or equivalent related professional experience
Solid understanding of SQL and/or statistical methods and programming languages like R, is a plus
3-5 years of customer-facing business analyst experience, HR exposure preferred
