Principal Software Development Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and disciplined Principal Software Engineer to join the Lodging Supply Connectivity technology team as part of Platform and Marketplace’s Lodging Supply division

In this role you will provide technical leadership and drive technical vision and strategy for External facing Lodging Supply APIs. This also entails working with business partners to flesh out requirements, drive solution design, development, and ultimate delivery. You will be collaborating with EG thought leaders in building EG travel platform

What you’ll do: 

  • Partner with technologists across all EG to collaboratively resolve problems

  • Mastered software design practices, shape coding methodologies and standards and promote adoption of new platform technologies

  • Be a thought leader and look for innovative solutions to solve problems at EG scale

  • Enable organizational efficiency by taking a whole systems approach and thinking across boundaries

  • Champion prioritized goals across the organization and work with others across EG to investigate those initiatives

  • Ensure documentation is not overwhelming or obsolete

Who you are:

  • Possess significant professional experience in software development

  • Expert at understanding API ecosystem: API Gateway, API Developer Portal, Identity and Access management

  • Expert knowledge of developing APIs using GraphQL, REST, GRPC

  • Cross-organizational influence and leadership

  • Expert knowledge of micro-service architecture

  • Experience working in AWS and continuous delivery practices

  • Dedication to writing and maintaining high-quality code

  • Ability to rapidly acquire and learn new software skills and technologies

  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or Equivalent related professional experience 

  • Minimum 7+ years of software development experience required
