Senior Strategy Manager

The Platform & Marketplaces (P&M) team builds Expedia Group’s platform spanning every part of the travel experience from creating travel inspiration, booking and helping customers at every step. Conversation Platform & Customer Engagement (CPCE) within P&M is redefining traveler, partner and agent engagement. CPCE power the conversation platform and our agent toolset. Our technology supports travelers and partners on their end-to-end customer journey by unlocking and using Expedia Group’s rich travel data. Our operational teams are passionate about improving the customer experience through implementing self-serve capabilities and ensuring customers have effortless interactions with our trusted travel advisors.

We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join and help craft and communicate the strategy which will directly impact customers across EG’s travel brands.

You will bring a blend of product, strategy, and program management proficiencies to key high visibility initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with senior leadership to define and drive the long-term strategy and establish a multiyear plan of strategic investment priorities

  • Build foundations for a plan by assessing industry trends, strategic opportunities while incorporating broader EG Corporate, Brand and Supply strategies

  • Play a key role in the go-to-market approach for our core technology domains, helping to define target customer segments, revenue models, and the value proposition

  • Help to define, supervise and share progress of the shared goals (OKRs)

  • Collaborate and provide thought leadership with CPCE and the broader finance, business operations, technology and HR team to translate the strategic plan into an execution-focused annual plan

  • Represent CPCE in cross business workstreams and discussions

  • Evangelise the strategy and support the execution of strategic and annual plans through effective collaboration across teams and divisions

  • Collaborate across the broader organization to prepare financial reviews

Who you are:

  • Strategy consulting background highly desirable

  • Experience working in a platform technology company preferred

  • Experience working in a platform technology company preferred

  • Experience working on go-to-market strategies is a plus

  • Sophisticated problem-solving skills. Able to tackle unstructured problems and build strategic frameworks and financial models

  • Respond effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations

  • Detail oriented and inquisitive to a fault with a bias to get stuff done

  • Natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth

  • Familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast paced environment

  • Lead mostly with questions rather than opinions, thriving on the opportunity to own, innovate, build, and constantly re-evaluate

  • Comfortable making recommendations across competing and equally critical business needs

  • Simplify, in order to clearly and succinctly convey sophisticated information and ideas to individuals at all levels of the organization

  • An analytical approach and comfortable with using data day-to-day

  • Outstanding program management skills. Able to lead multiple workstreams simultaneously and to perform under pressure
