Manager, Marketing Operations

We are looking for a motivated and data-driven Manager for our Tag Management efforts in our Marketing Operations team. The role will be supporting all Expedia Group channels to help them succeed.

You will lead a team of Analysts, who set up, monitor and improve tracking tags (“pixels”) on our site. These tags allow partners to receive data points to optimize campaigns, facilitate reporting, track audiences and enable ad-serving. You’ll be working closely with the Marketing Technology team, who own the tag management platform.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-growing environment with an international and diverse team. You will solve complex problems, use large amounts of data to drive insights, interact with a broad set of partners and have the ability to influence decision-making.

This role can be based in either London, UK or in Dallas, TX.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, guide, and support tag management team

  • Translate business asks into actionable tasks for your team

  • Design and implement best practices in the development, testing, and continuous monitoring of tags

  • Backlog grooming and prioritization based on business needs

  • Accountability for tag management KPIs

  • Stakeholder management and communication

  • Work closely with the tagging platform and data teams to ensure team’s requirements are fulfilled

  • Define reporting and automation needs, working with product teams to deliver them

  • Create an environment for team effectiveness, where strengths are known and built upon and learning is shared to build capacity

  • Prioritize team morale and productivity, celebrating team accomplishments.

  • Support Senior Manager in building and implementing the tag management vision and strategy

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a business, marketing or data background

  • Proven experience in leading teams preferred

  • Experience in Online Marketing, Operations and of any leading tag management tool, such as Google Tag Manager, Ensighten, Tealium or TagCommander

  • Hands-on attitude, and experience in developing and debugging tags

  • Good knowledge of Digital Analytics tools (such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics), JavaScript, HTML, SQL and Regular Expressions

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and you work well within a team 

  • Ability to analyse and interpret large data sets

  • Highly detail-oriented and dependable

  • Genuine interest in working in a fast-moving, environment and wearing multiple hats as needed

  • Excellent MS Excel skills

  • Detail driven – you demonstrate a strong attention to detail, accuracy and a detail-driven mind-set

  • Problem solver – you have a passion for ‘detective work’ and have strong problem-solving skills and ability to logically analyse complex processes and data sets and put solutions in place

  • Self-starter - able to independently manage and prioritise your own workload on a daily basis

  • Team player - able to work with others globally to get the job done
