Product Manager, Edge Platform

The Runtime Orchestration Platform is an infrastructure group that provides two critical platform capabilities to Expedia Group: Compute via Kubernetes and other legacy platforms, as well as Traffic Management via the Edge. The Edge Platform team is providing advanced traffic management capabilities like bot detection and mitigation to protect the integrity of our products, traffic routing, or providing critical insight into our incoming traffic. In Compute, our focus is to provide container or cluster infrastructure to app developers and teams across EG.

As a Product Manager I in the Edge platform team, you play a critical role to properly create, maintain and prioritize the product backlog for one or two of our Edge product development teams. You will also handle stakeholder communication and interaction to ensure that our teams deliver value to our customers as quickly as possible.

What you’ll do:

  • You will provide Product Ownership for the Agile delivery team and write user stories, acceptance criteria, hypotheses and success metrics for new product features or enhancements.
  • You will take point in customer communication regarding roadmap, initiatives, and timelines, and future goals
  • You will assist in developing a product strategy to evolve the platform offering for our Edge Platform capabilities
  • You will understand existing key performance indicators related to your own work and the importance of metrics in defining success (e.g., efficiency and effectiveness).
  • You will use customer insights to assist with developing viable solutions for customer problems and to inform product prioritization decisions with manager direction.
  • You will consider the audience's needs and context when crafting solutions or presenting ideas and are able to identify how the needs of different audiences may differ.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experienced Product manager who is familiar with agile practices, data science principles, the scientific method and who is able to assist an engineering team in breaking down a big boulder problem into smaller and more achievable pieces.
  • You have experience with traffic and bot management, and/or customer-facing applications relying on capabilities provided by the Edge
  • You have experience in leading product visions and being hands-down in the week to week team backlog, while not losing focus of the north-star vision
  • You know how to gain the trust and consensus from engineering teams
  • You know what is needed to help engineering teams be more successful
  • You're not afraid of applying creative methods or practices, when the situation requires it
  • You can be pragmatic, and you're always finding ways to simplify processes
