Program Manager III
The Packages Team is seeking a creative, organized, and curious Technical Program Manager to contribute to evolving the package shopping experience to help customers find and book their vacation. We build and maintain Expedia Group’s Packages shopping experience and underlying APIs. By providing our customers with a single path to book their whole trip together, we strive to help customers simplify their trip shopping experience and provide the most value possible through Package pricing.
The nature of our Packages team means that you will partner and collaborate with many other product teams responsible for each individual line of business we combine into a Package (Flights, Lodging, Cars, Activities, etc.) as well as our many other downstream partners. You will also work directly with many non-technical teams like UX design and research, product management, retail mangers, and strategy.
We are a mid-sized team working on a wide range of technologies from the front-end web experience to core business logic. We work as a dynamic, agile team with a commitment to producing high quality software while aiming to improve ourselves and our processes every single day.
As a TPM, you will work on our packages product to optimize our path and adapt to our customers' changing needs. You will drive feature development through the entire product lifestyle—from ideas and product hypotheses to implementation, delivery, and beyond. In your role, you will also play a key role in setting the tone on the team and creating a fun and happy work environment.
What you’ll do:
You will develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks to deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed. You will identify the types of resources required to support a project, and make recommendations for specific people, technology, partners etc.
You will keep relevant partners informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule
You will coordinate with team members to execute new ideas or approaches and achieve process improvement goals
You will compile data and analyze the impact of process changes
You will be involved in different stages of the product development lifecycle from idea generation to bringing a product to market by supporting the different phases and improving product performance
You will foster a team environment where members are comfortable critiquing and suggesting changes to improve processes
You will coordinate bringing together different partners with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues and contributes your own suggestions
You will assist with a whole systems approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process, and technology) are identified and accounted for
You will participate in the software development lifecycle and how various agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing)
You will create clear, concise, and organized communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages)
You will gain partner trust by effectively addressing their concerns to further long-term interests
Who you are:
Strong Technical Program Management experience
Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional information (e.g., legal, data/metrics, and technical information) and can accurately answer relevant questions
Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners
Experience tailoring communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for diverse groups as appropriate
Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively
