Senior Director, Enterprise Data Management and Governance

Expedia Group is looking for Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management & Governance to craft, define and deliver our long-term plan for Expedia Group's Enterprise Data Management function. To unlock the full potential of our data we need to enable consistent and trusted data to drive accurate data-driven business outcomes. You will establish and manage Expedia Group's enterprise data management program with the goal to operationalize and execute to Expedia group's Data Strategy and convert data into a differentiated asset for the company.

You will partner with business, product, technology teams across Expedia group to achieve the data management and governance objectives. Working within a fast-paced environment, while balancing risk/reward with iterating on innovative products, your key responsibilities are to:

What you’ll do:

  • Establish and chair the Data Management Council to define, approve, and document key Expedia Group terms and metrics definitions. Implement a world-class change management practice to ensure the company is informed of policy and process and executing on term/metric definition changes

  • Establish highly scalable mechanisms and processes to drive the flawless execution of operations within the data ecosystem by coordinating effectively with various data clients and data producers to establish a culture of accountability and ensure data quality

  • Craft the end to end strategy, policies and processes for data governance and data management of Expedia's master data and ensure single source of truth and data integrity for reporting and decision making

  • Establish oversight processes to report on execution of strategy and health of data management practices within the Expedia Group data environment

Who you are:

  • Diverse expertise in design, development and implementation of innovative data management and governance practices, roles and responsibilities across multiple data management fields

  • Experience in enabling two-sided marketplaces platforms to achieve value by leveraging data

  • Leader with exceptional business acumen, process mindset with product/ technology background

  • Experience working in matrixed organizations and complex data ecosystem to influence non-direct reports and incorporate data management practices into platform solutions/offering

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues simply and convincingly to help drive fast decisions.

  • Think creatively and force simplicity while solving interesting data related problems and opportunities in a fast-paced environment

  • Embrace challenges, persist, and learn through support and feedback
