Business Development Manager, TravelAds (Tokyo)

Are you someone who is interested in driving a fast-growing, travel media business? Do you love to harness the power of e-commerce to help partners efficiently meet their goals and optimize their results?

We are looking for a Business Development Manager in the TravelAds Sponsored Listing business. You will have revenue and management responsibility for a portfolio of existing online advertiser accounts as well as prospecting new accounts. You will develop market specific strategies to reach a quarterly revenue target while producing industry leading results for your partners. You will uncover and implement revenue growth initiatives that are consistent with Media Solutions strategy and deliver measurable value to the accounts you lead.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager will have revenue and management responsibility for a portfolio of existing online advertiser accounts as well as prospecting new accounts. The Business Development Manager will manage their accounts to a combined revenue target.  They will uncover and implement revenue growth initiatives that are consistent with MeSo strategy and deliver measurable value to the accounts they manage.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities that ensures attainment of quarterly revenue targets
  • Engage with clients to become knowledgeable on business needs & goals. Consult with clients to develop account opportunities and provide promotional products that meet business needs & goals
  • Provide recommendations on TravelAds sales strategy for a specific market geography or segment to grow Media Solutions business. Understand performance data and the ability to make forward thinking suggestions through analysing trends. Uncovering ROI opportunities and presenting them to clients
  • Interface with product and marketing teams to define new product offerings. Work with management on the strategy for sales. Oversee the launch and on-going day-to-day performance of advertising partnerships and resolve issues as they arise. Coordinate with and provide influence across other business functions including marketing, operations, billing, and product. Provide thought leadership and mentor other AR's through the sales process
  • Deliver continued improvement in revenue contribution to MeSo through a consultative sales approach with clients. Maintain and grow client base. Meet and exceed revenue goals on a quarterly basis
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly revenue goals as set by sales leadership.  Quarterly revenue goal in excess of $500K

Who are you:

  • Ability to speak business English and Japanese
  • Bachelor's degree with proven years of sales experience, preferably in Media Sales or Travel industry or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets and effectively present proposals & provide influence at the senior management level
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consultative sales support and build long lasting client relationships which may require travel
