Senior Technical Product Manager III - Air Platform & Experience
Expedia's Flights team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us reimagine and deliver the best flight customer experience on the web utilizing our vast data sets and machine learning. Do you want to help people go places? Come fly with us!
In this role you will develop, prioritize, and deliver a portfolio of features and test & learns to improve the user experience of millions of travelers, across our various sites (e.g. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity) all around the world. You will partner with our engineering, data science and analytics team to optimize and tailor our overall search platform to drive new engaging experiences for travelers across the journey highly focused in the discovery phase. As a part of the team, you will work with local and global teammates to build a delightful product, execute strategy, and drive business goals. Our team embraces a bold, results-oriented approach and the technical and analytical know-how needed to deliver results.
We are looking for an effective relationship builder to drive support across a broad range of fields and personalities. Most importantly, you are a creative problem solver with an eye for details and a keen focus on results.
What you'll do:
Craft flight products with your innovative ideas and deep understanding of customer experience and industry / ecommerce trends
Partner with our platform and customer experience teams to deliver brand new customer-centric tools and experiences
Utilize machine learning and data insights to optimize our search platform to deliver the right balance of accuracy and precision while improving overall speed, CVR and content quality
Establish the vision, business goals, roadmap, and A/B testing strategy for your product features
Define product success metrics and provide detailed analysis of business impact, and lead executive communication on results
Collaborate with designers, developers, and other product teams to deliver outstanding product improvements
Lead trade-off decisions between cost, schedule, and business benefit, and ensure delivery of features to production that meet customer needs
Who you are:
BA/BS in a related technical field; or equivalent related work experience
5-10 years of product management or related experience that should include several product/service launches utilizing SCRUM/Agile Development to deliver Web and/or Mobile Applications
Strong understanding of technology as a platform and how it can enable delivery of unique customer experiences
Intellectually curious by nature familiar and very comfortable with concepts related to API platform, caching technologies and large-scale computation
Experience in Mobile First responsive design preferred, and Experience in a fast-paced eCommerce environment or Air/Travel experience preferred
Very strong interpersonal and communication skills (externally and internally at all levels)
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and positively influence a large, complex organization
Clear record of defining and executing key analyses that generate measurable insights with minimal direction leveraging multiple data sources to help quantify and validate hypotheses
