The EG Site Platform team is a technology platform team within the Platform & Marketplaces org. The team is responsible for building, maintaining & supporting recommended platforms throughout the Expedia state-of-the-art stack. From application platforms & templates for back-end JVM or Node.js based apps, through supported Business Domain (gRPC) & Experience Graph API (GraphQL) application templates & infrastructure, to front-end frameworks & application templates supporting React-based web-apps including support for the EG Design System and other common EG systems.
This position is an engineering role in the UI Platform focus area of the Site Platform Team which focuses on supporting the adoption and evolution of front-end frameworks across EG. You will work on opportunities across Site Platform and also with our partners across EG.
Current priorities include supporting several EG Accelerated Capabilities in adopting Bernie (React-based web-app platform), Experience API (GraphQL) & modern development patterns, such as re-usable UI components across applications (Shared-UI/Server-UI). We are also working to ensure our platforms are aligned with the next generation EG build, deploy & operational environments.
Build and evolve the next gen EG UI frameworks and platforms to be adapted by different EG brands
Write unit, automation and integration tests to ensure the quality of your product
Collaborate with teams across the organization
Participate in design and code reviews
Enthusiastically look for ways to make our customers' experiences better
Help design and build reusable frameworks and libraries to simplify development.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Excellent problem solving and strong communication skills.
Ability to write clean, systematic code and follow established coding conventions
Understanding of PWA and responsive design patterns
Experience supporting the infrastructure and deployment pipelines of applications
Proactively reaches out to meet peers across the teams and collaborates to solve problems
Previous experience on large codebases
Experience in Agile development
Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
