Strategic Initiatives Manager

As a Strategic Initiatives Manager in the Partner Enablement & Strategy team, you will have full ownership to drive impactful projects and execute critical initiatives for Expedia Group’s (EG) Partnership organisation.

Expedia Brands’ Partnerships is a flexible and highly energetic marketing channel that handles over 5,000 partner relationships across all EG brands. This is a newly formed team within EG, which represents a phenomenal opportunity to be part of an exciting journey where you can help craft our strategic direction and future operating model!

We are looking for a candidate that has experience in balancing analytical prowess, that will improve the development of our business strategy, with effective management of global projects. Our team is an essential business partner to the wider Marketing organisation and thrives when building strong relationships with our Commercial, Business Operations, MarTech, Finance and Analytics teams.

What you'll do:

  • You'll conduct market and competitive analysis to uncover opportunities and threats, with particular focus on how we can drive efficiency across the team
  • Frame the found opportunities into specific initiatives and acquire agreement from key partners to influence product and marketing strategy
  • Deliver research and analysis to generate penetrative insights upon which to evolve the Retail Partnership business. This will include estimating revenue opportunity (sizing) for new partner segments, commercial models, and products, and prioritize accordingly
  • You will apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle unstructured problems and build strategic frameworks and models
  • You will develop recommendations for our long-term strategy and be able to communicate key considerations from across the business

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in a strategic role, with a preference for management consultancy and/or a similar role in a leading technology company
  • Exceptional project management skills – able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, perform under pressure, and lead inclusive and diverse project teams
  • High-energy with a growth mentality. You will be a self-starter looking to have a positive impact on the business
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to senior leadership and operational teams
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills, takes a data first approach to draw upon business insight where information is incomplete
  • Teammate - thrives in a climate of inclusion and implements expansive strategies to bring a diverse set of perspectives to the team and solutions
