Technical Support Analyst

The Expedia Access Management team is the business powerhouse for the Expedia group and contributes the largest share of our company’s revenue. Our operations are global, with representation in 8 countries and 17 offices. Our platforms are unique, supporting multiple Expedia Group brands including Brand Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Wotif and Ebookers; and our sister brands Hotels.com, Expedia Affiliate Network, Trivago and most recently HomeAway.

What you’ll do:

  • Support large ticket by scripts
  • Maintain Identity and Access Management specific applications
  • Implement product features working as part of multi-functional, agile team, work with Engineers and Product Owners based around the world.
  • Develop software verification plans, quality assurance procedures and document software functionality
  • Work with Support teams to resolve production issues.
  • Provide work breakdown and estimates for complex software development tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with PowerShell, Java
  • OO analysis and design
  • Test Driven and Behaviour Driven development practices and tools (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Mockito or equivalent)
  • Unix/Linux environment
  • Version control systems (e.g. git)

Useful experience:

  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience creating and supporting Web Services in a high transactional environment.
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Java Web Application containers and frameworks (Drop wizard, Tomcat, Spring, etc.)
  • Java Web Services (REST etc.), protocols and deployment
  • Java data access with both JDBC/SQL and ORM (Hibernate, etc.)
  • Java ecosystem of tools including automated build and continuous integration (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Issue tracking systems (Jira, Trello etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud (AWS, etc.) and parallel (Hadoop MR, etc.) computing

Education background:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
