User Experience Designer III
As a User Experience Designer for Vrbo’s Global Experience Design Group, you’ll work at the intersection of the user, data, technology, and design. You’ll place a deep focus on user insight to help you keenly understand user experience problems and opportunities. Build a solid toolkit of methods for facilitating the gathering and synthesizing of diverse insights in ambiguous problem spaces
Influence strategy by articulating a coherent UX vision based on clear problem and opportunity statements
Define customer experience success metrics for a project or product area
Explore diverse, novel perspectives and design directions by default, and evaluates concepts using appropriate methods to determine the strongest
Facilitate idea generation with a variety of partners
Demonstrate proficiency in common visual and interaction design principles and practice, and create appropriate sketches, wireframes, flows, design comps, and prototypes with minimal guidance
Bring together different partners with varied perspectives to find opportunities to set goals and increase efficiency across organizational boundaries
Actively contribute to design system growth based on use cases. Makes decisions that clarify relationships between patterns and support future flexibility
Consistently build clear and compelling materials and narratives explaining design rationale to team and stakeholders using customer, business, or competitive insights
Actively seek diverse feedback on design work and anticipate feedback to address it proactively
Tailor communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
Apply and adapt design and research processes to fit needs of project
Develop empathy and insights about customers based on data and insights from research and other customer data sources
Clearly communicate customer-centric goals when presenting work
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design-related field (Human Factors, Interaction Design, Graphic Designer) or at least 5 years of professional experience
Strong in 2 core skills, capable in 2 others: Interaction/visual design, Information architecture, User research, Facilitation, Prototyping, Technical/Platform knowledge, UX writing, Illustration, Motion design
Preferred experience in web, native mobile, product, graphic, interaction, or information design
Knowledge in multi-screen layout, final production art, information design, typography, color, composition, flows, and UI specifications
Proficiency in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, or other visual design, wire-framing, and prototyping tools
