Senior Manager, Retail Promotions Strategy

The Retail Promotions and Propositions team combines strategy and analytics specialists to help craft the way Expedia Group offers competitive and differentiated promotions on lodging, flight and package products across each of its retail brands.
 

The team is looking for a self-starting, commercially astute individual to lead key business initiatives and do so with a high level of autonomy. As the Senior Manager, Retail Promotions Strategy you will be the voice of retail groups within Expedia Group partnering with leaders across the business to drive promotions recommendations as well as managing the economics of these programs.



What You'll Do

  • Think big and small – shape Expedia Group’s promotional offering based on commercial acumen and a strong understanding of the ‘big picture’ of our retail brand strategies and competitive environment as well as the details of our marketplace economics and platform capabilities
  • Become a subject matter authority in pricing and promotions, including the customer impact and economics of different levers and offerings
  • Find opportunities to simplify and improve our offering and drive their implementation
  • Partner with an outstanding analytics team dedicated to pricing and promotions – frame the business context for their projects, identify hypotheses to test and develop data-driven and practical recommendations based on their findings
  • Where appropriate, conduct ad-hoc analyses to support agile decision making
  • Become a trusted partner of leaders across marketing, product, finance and pricing operations teams, as a key point of contact between them on pricing and promotions topics
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define and drive delivery of critical initiatives
  • Prepare executive-level written materials and present findings to company leaders



Who You Are

  • At least 6 years of work experience in strategy consulting and/or the e-commerce or travel & hospitality sectors in strategy, pricing or online marketing roles
  • Experience of leading multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects and teams
  • Experience working with and interpreting data and analytics
  • Academic background (MSc or equivalent preferred) in a quantitative subject area
  • Proficient in MS Excel/Powerpoint
  • Additional technical/productivity skills a plus: Tableau, SQL
  • Logical and structured thinker, able to simplify complex business problems, and communicate concepts clearly and concisely
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Eye for business, desire to learn, and bias to action
