We are looking for a passionate Software Engineering Manager to lead our Flights Product Engineering teams. We are responsible for building the best flights shopping and booking experiences for our customers. We want you to bring your skills to our agile environment as we move from revolutionizing the web to redefining the mobile travel experience. From the back-end supply and database functions, to new user-interfaces for our more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of technical innovation as we push the frontiers of technology.

We are looking for a passionate individual with hands-on technical skills and an interest in managing teams to help develop, test and provide production support of the team's components and applications. A successful person in this role will be unafraid to get into the details of our solutions, guide and vet ideas with the teams, tackle end-to-end ownership of systems and work in coordination with Engineers, Product Management, Architects, and Operational peers. As a hands-on leader, your responsibility will be to manage a team of software engineers, ensure project delivery and build systems to help test and analyze our search engine's functional and competitive performance.
Further, you will have the opportunity to understand and shape the marketplace landscape we are looking to create, solve some wickedly hard problems, and influence design decisions that can have a large impact across the company. Sound like an interesting challenge? Success in the position requires you to be able to work effectively in various SDLC styles and effectively collaborate and problem solve with peers across several teams and disciplines. Your systems will be expected to explore use cases of the product, validate functional correctness, and ensure we meet the levels of scalability and robustness needed for this extremely high-volume and high-visibility product.
