Director, Ancillary and Cobrand, Customer Marketing

At Hotels.com we are constantly developing propositions that are simple, generous and relevant and we’re looking for a Director, Ancillary and Cobrand to join the Global Customer Marketing team to manage our non-lodging products, including Co-brand credit card, Insurance, Activities, Car Rental, Flights & Packages, Groups & Meetings. Relationship Management will be at the heart of the role and you’ll have responsibility for working with both internal teams and externally with our partners.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be responsible for our non-lodging products, from strategy setting through to execution and commercial optimization in a way that complements and enhances the core Hotels.com experience. This includes launching new co-brand credit card and insurance products in the US, as well as driving growth from existing products such as flights, packages and groups. Core to the role is driving customer long term value and enhancing the power of the Expedia Group platform. Managing relationships with bank partners and third party suppliers to drive success for all parties will be a key part of this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Gaining alignment on the overarching strategy for complementary products
  • Working with Marketing, Product, Tech and Call Centre teams to launch and optimize the products, agreeing project plans and holding people accountable on delivery within timescales
  • Handling risks and trade-offs, balancing delivery of a strong customer-centric offering with speed to market
  • Defining the customer proposition, in conjunction with partners, and ensuring positive customer experience that results in repeat behavior
  • Set the marketing strategy and managing execution across multiple channels and customer touchpoints
  • Responsible for budget decisions and optimization of investment to drive optimal financial return
  • Responsible for negotiating and agreeing commercial decisions and contractual agreements
  • Own initiative prioritization and project intake process, effectively triaging requests
  • Tracking and reporting on end to end success metrics (financial, customer engagement and experience)

Critical to the role will be

  • Building relationships with key internal and external business partners, creating a well-functioning cross-discipline team across brands
  • Ensure seamless communication so that everyone is on the same page and partners are up to speed and bought in
  • Understand the priorities, motivations of partners and team members, and develop strategies to best service those needs
  • Effectively leading a virtual team across marketing, tech, product, financial disciplines and a direct team of 3

Who You Are:

  • Have very strong partner management & interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, motivate and gain consensus across all levels of the organization
  • Experienced in running complex and cross-functional product launches, with previous experience in successfully launching a cobrand credit card proposition
  • You should be a commercial thinker, with the ability to translate vision and strategy into delivery, coupled with strong analytical skills
  • Be a self-starter with experience working effectively in an ambiguous environment and navigating the complexities of highly matrixed organizations
  • Have a passion for the customer and a background in marketing
  • Willingness for frequent travel
