What you’ll do:

Coaching:

  • Coach, mentor and support less experienced members of the team to help develop their skills and career as a Project Manager within Expedia.
  • Act as a role model within the PMO team and wider Expedia teams – to highlight and demonstrate the benefit of bringing onboard Project Managers.
  • Working with the Lead PM and Director of PMO, Product teams, Technical Leads and Stakeholders to ensure we have a clear approach to delivery of projects including establishing processes, procedures and all-round good practice for best in class delivery.

Project delivery:

  • Lead strategic/challenging/cross business projects within Expedia Group. This may include multiple project delivery depending on the size and shape of projects.
  • Work closely with internal partners and delivery teams to define/refine requirements, ensuring a clear and common understanding of scope and priority of deliverables.
  • Implement effective governance structures, ensuring decision making at the appropriate level, enabling projects to be responsive change.
  • Track and report progress against the plan, managing expectations on project status, risks and issues.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of risks, impediments and drive to resolution.
  • Organise and run effective project meetings with clear agendas, actions, notes and make sure everything is followed up and actioned.
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate!

Who you are:

  • Excellent leadership skills – we want to transform delivery in Expedia and need someone who can help lead and drive change and demonstrate what good looks like.
  • Be a ‘seasoned’ Senior PM – someone who has seen lots of project delivery in action, got the battle scars and with examples of turning projects around, driving change within delivery and the ability to pick something up and just run with it.
  • Strong Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and all-round Project Management skills and be able to tailor your approach to what the team, Stakeholder and the project need in order to deliver effectively and ensure visibility on progress.
  • Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills to work effectively with our Product teams and Stakeholders around the Business and ensure success and impediments are shared early and often.
  • Excellent problem-solving acumen, with adaptability to help the team deliver – no matter what it takes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with diverse personality types and people in overseas locations.
